Design the Tuesday

Titles are easy to want because they are easy to see. But nobody lives inside a title. You live inside your Tuesdays: the problems, the people, the hours that are yours to direct and the hours that are not.

The best career moves I have watched did not start with a title. They started with a picture of an ordinary day worth showing up for. Once you can describe that day, you can see which roles will give it to you, and which will only give you a bigger name for a day you will not enjoy.
