Let Your Work Travel

Nobody can champion work they have never heard about.

That sounds obvious until you look at how most good work actually moves through an organization. Quietly. Secondhand. Compressed into a single sentence by someone who was in a hurry. The people who make decisions about your future are working from that sentence, not from the work.

That is not unfair. It is how attention works when everyone has too little of it. Which means the most generous thing you can do for the people who want to back you is give them the words.

Not a highlight reel. A plain account. What moved this week, why it mattered, what comes next. Said in a way someone could repeat in a meeting you are not in.

Your work is already good enough to be talked about. The only question is whether the story people tell is the true one, in your words, or a guess.

Tell the story of your week. Then let it travel.
