The turn came from one question: name one responsibility someone else could do at 80% of your standard. He named one — reluctantly. We handed it off with a real brief: the outcome, the authority, the check-in. It came back at 80%.
Then 85. Then he stopped checking. And the strangest thing happened to his week: room.
Room he had no idea what to do with at first — which told both of us how long it had been since his job asked him to think. He's still the hardest worker in the building.
