The Question You Keep Avoiding

There’s a question a lot of leaders carry around for months — sometimes years — without actually asking it.
Is this still the right place for me?
Not ‘am I performing?’ Not ‘do I like my colleagues?’ The deeper question: does this work still give me energy? Is there a version of me two years from now that I actually want to be?
Most people avoid it because they’re afraid of the answer. Or they’ve confused loyalty with honesty.
But energy is data. How your work feels — whether it charges you or drains you — that’s information. Most leaders just aren’t reading it.
When did you last honestly ask yourself whether this is still the right place?
