The Right Altitude Is Live

Every leader I've ever coached has hit the same wall.
Different companies, different industries, different levels — and the same moment. The moment when the thing that got them promoted stops working. When the playbook that earned every title starts producing diminishing returns. And nobody tells them why.
They work harder. They put in more hours. They solve more problems — problems their teams should be solving. And the gap between effort and results keeps growing. Not because they're not good enough. Because they're operating at the wrong altitude.
I wrote The Right Altitude because I watched this pattern play out a thousand times. At Google. At Meta. At LinkedIn and AT&T and companies you've never heard of. A thousand leaders. Same wall.
The fix was never working harder. It was recalibrating. Understanding which dimensions of your influence were doing all the heavy lifting — and which ones had gone quiet. Understanding that the strength you're most proud of might be the thing that's capping you. Understanding that the conversations you're avoiding have a compound interest rate that's been accruing for months.
This is how the book starts:
"You got promoted. Congratulations. Now here's what nobody told you. The skills that got you here are not the skills that will keep you here. The instincts that earned every promotion are now the instincts that are getting in your way. And the harder you work at the wrong altitude, the worse it gets — because effort without recalibration isn't performance. It's very expensive motion."
Twelve chapters. Forty-eight tools. Not frameworks to study — tools to pick up and use this week. The Dentist Trap. The Monster Audit. The Energy Audit. The Friday Update. Every chapter opens with a real pattern from real coaching conversations. Every chapter closes with mirror questions — no answers, because the person who needs to answer them is you.
I sat in the rooms my clients are sitting in. This is the book I wish someone had given me.
