The Room You’re Not In

Right now, somewhere in your organization, there's a conversation happening about you. Or about the opportunity that should go to you.
And you're not in the room.
You'll never be in the room. That's how organizations work. Leaders talk to other leaders about their people. They make recommendations. They spend political capital.
The question isn't whether those conversations are happening. They are. Right now.
The question is: who's in that room saying your name?
Not your mentor. Your mentor gives you advice. But your mentor isn't in that room. You need people who will spend their reputation on you.
If you can't name three people who would do that — that's the gap. Not your skills. Your advocacy network.
Who's saying your name?
