The Question Nobody Asks

I’ve worked with leaders who achieved everything they set out to achieve.

The title. The compensation. The scope.

And felt nothing.

Not unhappy. Not burned out. Just… empty.

Here’s what I found in every one of those conversations:

Nobody ever asked them to define good on their own terms.

The definition was always provided for them.

Good meant higher. Good meant more. Good meant the next rung.

So they climbed. And they got there.

And discovered the view wasn’t what they expected.

What does good look like for you?

Not for the company. Not for your boss. Not for your resume.

For you.

When did someone last ask you that question?
